Habitat is all about volunteers! Whether you’re a student, working professional, or senior, we have rewarding volunteer positions that offer flexible schedules. Experience is not necessary to volunteer with us as we provide all needed training. Here are a few of our typical volunteer opportunities you might work on:
Individuals and groups are needed to help build homes or other short term projects for our families.Construction experience is appreciated but not necessary. We currently try to build one house per year and do house repairs whenever a need arrises. When a house is under construction, normal build days are Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Typically we build during the summer and fall.
A volunteer shift at the ReStore may include: Loading and unloading vehicles, receiving donations, sorting materials (like lumber, small hardware, tile, tools, etc.), building displays, and basic maintenance duties such as sweeping, cleaning and organizing. Everyday is a little different, and everything you do to help is important, so we appreciate your flexibility as a volunteer!
Join a Committee
Do you have a special ability or interest? We have committees working with our families, helping select new families, and doing fundraising and working on special events.
In addition volunteer opportunities are available in fundraising, special events, and Habitat’s administrative office.
